Datil Pepper Plants

The Datil Pepper is Saint Augustine, Florida’s beloved local treasure, and has been spicing up Florida since around the 1820s. These Datil seedlings are your ticket to a bountiful Datil pepper harvest! Watch these heirloom plants grow up to 3 ft. tall, a compact pepper plant, and produce plenty of these bright-colored 3″ pods. The pods ripen from green to yellow and finally to its mature orange color. You might have heard that the Datil is similar in heat to the Habanero, but Datil peppers are sweeter with a fruity, tangy flavor. In my opinion, it’s one of the tastiest hot peppers out there. Try making your own Datil Pepper sauce with these highly prized peppers!
